Who makes this site
Nocedo de Ribeira is a personal, non-profit project by Juan Barreiro Cuquejo. It has no advertising and sells nothing. Contact: recordos@nocedoderibeira.com.
Who owns the contents
The texts, design and recreations belong to this project. Archival documents and photos belong to their archives and authors: each one carries its source and licence under «All sources», at the foot of the story. Memories belong to whoever writes them. Whoever sends a memory, photo or video declares they have the right to share it and is responsible for it; if something published is yours or affects you, write to us and it will be removed immediately.
AI recreations
Images marked «AI recreation» imagine how something might have looked when no photo survives. They are not real photos or documents.
If you find a mistake
The story is told only from certified sources, and anything inferred is said to be so. If you spot a mistake, or something of yours that shouldn't be here, write to recordos@nocedoderibeira.com and it will be fixed.
Privacy of memories
Who keeps your data
Juan Barreiro Cuquejo, author of this non-profit project, is the data controller. For anything at all: recordos@nocedoderibeira.com.
What data, and why
Only what you write in the form: your name (or initials), your link to Nocedo, the memory (written or recorded in your voice), the period, the photos and videos, the house if you chose one and, if you like, your email. They are used to prepare Edition 02 and publish it on the memory wall. Your email is only used to tell you your memory arrived and when it is published, or to ask you something about it.
Why we may keep them
Because you consent by ticking the box and, if you record your voice, by choosing whether it can be heard on the site (Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation). You can withdraw consent at any time and your memory will be removed.
What gets published
Nothing is published until a person has reviewed it. Then the wall shows the name you wrote, your link to Nocedo, the period, the memory, the photos and the videos. If you recorded your voice, it is turned into text and can only be heard on the site if you chose that. Your email is never published. Photos are stored without the phone's hidden data, such as where they were taken, and videos lose, on your phone before they are sent, the place where they were filmed.
People who appear in memories
Only send photos and videos that are yours or that you have permission to share from the people in them or their families. If you, or a relative of yours, appear in a photo, video or memory and you want it removed, write to us and we will remove it.
Age
You must be 14 or older (Article 7 of Spain's Organic Law 3/2018). If you are younger, ask a parent or guardian to send it.
Where they are kept, and who sees them
In a Cloudflare database inside the European Union (and videos in its R2 storage, also in the European Union). Cloudflare only stores them on our behalf, under a data processing agreement; the two email notices are sent by Resend from servers in Ireland, also under contract. To turn a voice recording into text we use Cloudflare's artificial intelligence service (Workers AI), under the same agreement, and the recording is not used to train anything. They are not shared with anyone else or used for advertising. To stop abuse, an encrypted fingerprint of the internet address you write from is kept for 2 days and then deleted.
How long
Published memories, for as long as the site exists or until you ask for them to be removed. Those not published are deleted within 12 months at most. If you don't want your voice to be heard, the recording is deleted once the text has been checked and published.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object, restrict its use or take it with you: write to recordos@nocedoderibeira.com. If you think your rights were not respected, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
Cookies
This site uses no cookies and nothing that tracks you. It only keeps, in your own browser, the language you chose, whether you want larger text and the draft of the form, so you don't lose what you wrote. That never leaves your device.
